Frequently asked
How do credits work?▾
Your plan gives you a monthly credit allowance that resets each renewal. Generating a full book burns credits; lighter actions — rereading, browsing your library, re-exporting a finished book — do not. Unused credits do not roll over to next month; use them or lose them. If you run out before the cycle closes, you can wait for renewal or upgrade your plan — upgrades prorate instantly.
Can I cancel my subscription?▾
Yes, any time, no calls, no weird forms. Go to Settings → Plan & credits → Manage Subscription and cancel from the Stripe portal. The cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you've already paid for — you keep access until that date and you keep every book you've already generated. We don't refund partial periods or unused credits.
Is there a mobile app?▾
Not yet. Booklee runs in the browser and it's built for writing on a real keyboard with a real screen — the interview, chapter editing, and cover review fall apart on a phone. Mobile works for checking your library and account, but generating chapters wants a desktop. A native app is on the table once we see real demand for it.
Who owns the book I generate with Booklee?▾
You do. You keep all rights to the text, covers and exported files. You can publish and sell on Amazon KDP without restriction.
Do I need to disclose AI use when uploading to KDP?▾
Yes. KDP requires disclosing AI use for text and covers. On the KDP upload screen check "AI-generated" for text and/or cover as applicable.
Can I regenerate chapters multiple times?▾
Yes, up to 3 times per chapter. Each regen applies optional feedback ("make it warmer", "cut by half").
Why is there a white box on the back cover?▾
That's the keep-out zone reserved for the barcode KDP places automatically. Don't edit that area — it must stay blank.
My PDF/EPUB export fails — what do I do?▾
Make sure all chapters are written (green status). If it keeps failing, email us with the book ID.
